Diploma in Public Administration (DPA) is a programme that immerses students in the administrative aspects of the government. The programme introduces students to the various fields of study that are relevant to a government’s administration.  Due to its general approach to the study of Public Administration, the programme’s syllabus covers multiple disciplines such as  Administration, Management, Administrative Law, Statistics, Accountancy and Economics. Upon completing the programme, students are equipped with the knowledge  on government’s operation and work processes. Graduates of this programme are anticipated to hold the posts of an Administrator/Officer/Executive in the public or private sectors.

DPA is a highly accepted prerequisite programme to advance to other Bachelor Degrees such as Administration, Corporate Administration, Law, or Economics. DPA is recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Public Service Department (PSD).

A Malaysian candidate who wishes to pursue a programme of study at the UiTM must fulfil the University's entry requirements as follows:

• Open to the descendants of Malay, the Subsidiaries State of Sabah, Native of Sarawak and Orang Asli
• Passed SPM or its equivalents by the Malaysian government qualification with THREE (3) credits inclusive of Bahasa Melayu; AND
• Passed History subject

• Fulfill the ENTRY REQUIREMENTS with additional credits in English and Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; OR
• Pre-Diploma graduates - Passed the Upgrade (Lulus Naik Taraf)  Pre-Diploma in Commerce  (PD002/PD003) UiTM; OR
• APEL (ACCREDITATION OF PRIOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING)
  • Passed the MQA test
  • Age not less than 20 years on the year of application.
  • At least five (5) years of working experience in related fields
  • Passed the faculty level interview.

Graduates from this programme will be able to find employment in the following fields among others;

4. Diplomatic Services
5. Entrepreneurship

• Candidates who complete this program can apply for a Bachelor Degree in UiTM or other universities by fulfilling the conditions set by the University.
• Candidates MUST have a MUET result prior applying to a Bachelor Degree programme.
• Graduates from Diploma in Corporate Administration could further studies in Bachelor Degree Programme in Administrative Science,  Corporate Administration, Environmental Administration, Law, Corporate Compliance and Business Management.
