PROGRAM/CODE : EXECUTIVE MASTER OF ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCE (AM770)

Synopsis: The Executive Master of Administrative Science (EMAS) is designed to enable the mid-level public managers to play such a role. The programme addresses the primary policy, administrative and governance challenges. It also aims to develop understanding and competencies in areas that will enhance the public manager's career. The curriculum was developed through careful observation of the public agencies, the public executives and through intensive consultation with Institut Tadbir Awam Negara (INTAN). The core courses provide for generic and generally required competencies in accordance with their interest and preference. The Dissertation allows the candidates to demonstrate their ability to formulate and research issues and problem faced by their organizations.

REQUIREMENTS

i. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the UiTM Senate;

ii. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted with 2 years of working experience;

iii. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted with 4 years of working experience;

iii. Any other qualifications that is approved by UiTM.

iv. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields OR working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UiTM and meet the minimum CGPA as required.

v. APEL candidate: Fulfil Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) admission process for Master Degree in related area. Pass APEL (Aptitude test and Portfolio Assessment).

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT: ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS

International applicants are required to obtain a minimum:

i. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3 OR,

ii. IELTS Band 5 OR

iii. TOEFL: Internet Based Test (IBT: 35-45); Computer Based Test (CBT: 107-131); Paper Based Test (417-450) OR

iv. CEFR: B1 OR

v. TOEIC: 356-440 OR

vi. BULATS: 40-59

vii. Candidate who does not have MUET or TOEFL or IELTS is required to attend six (6) months English Proficiency Class (EPC) prior to enrolment to the program. Upon completion of the EPC program, candidate needs to sit for TOEFL/IELTS/MUET examination with the score as stated above.

PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENT FOR AM770:

Applicant from the Field other than Administration, Law, Business & Management with no working experience in the relevant field:

a) Introduction to Policy Studies
b) Introduction to Public Administration
