PROGRAM/CODE : MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS & DIPLOMACY
(AM701)
SYNOPSIS: AM701 is designed to produce public and private sector managers, administrators and practitioners that could address contemporary challenges in the context of a rapidly changing national and international environment. To achieve this objective, the course content combines key concepts and ideas with applied knowledge and practices in the fields of international relations and diplomacy. The curriculum is thus designed and developed through extensive consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various public and private sector agencies, and observations of former diplomats to enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of the key forces driving national and international developments today and in the future. The core courses provide for generic competencies while the electives allow candidates to acquire specialized knowledge and skills in their area of interest and preferences. The dissertation will allow candidates to demonstrate their ability to undertake research on issues and problems related to their field of interest relevant to the context of international relations and diplomacy.
REQUIREMENTS |
i. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the UiTM Senate; OR |
ii. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted with 2 years of working experience; OR |
iii. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted with 4 years of working Experience; OR |
iv. Any other recognized qualifications by UiTM. |
v. Successful in an interview conducted by the Faculty. |
vi. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields OR working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UiTM and meet the minimum CGPA as required. |
vii. APEL candidate: Fulfil Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) admission process for Master Degree in related area. Pass APEL (Aptitude test and Portfolio Assessment). |
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT: ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS |
International applicants are required to obtain a minimum: i. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3 OR, |
ii. IELTS Band 5 OR |
iii. TOEFL: Internet Based Test (IBT: 35-45); Computer Based Test (CBT: 107-131); Paper Based Test (417-450) OR |
iii. CEFR: B1 OR |
iv. TOEIC: 356-440 OR |
v. BULATS: 40-59 |
vii. Candidate who does not have MUET or TOEFL or IELTS is required to attend six (6) months English Proficiency Class (EPC) prior to enrolment to the program. Upon completion of the EPC program, candidate needs to sit for TOEFL/IELTS/MUET examination with the score as stated above.
