Doctor of Philosophy (Administrative Science) - AM990

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a recognised Master’s degree in Administration, Management or other related disciplines with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.00 or equivalent and attend the interview conducted by the Faculty Postgraduate Committee. The application must be attached together with the research proposal in the prescribed format.

The application for the research programme is open throughout the year.

 

Duration of Study

2½ - 7 years (5 – 14 Semester)

 

International Applicants

Applicants must have a recognised honours degree certified by the Malaysian Government and a TOEFL score of IBT 35-45/ CBT 107-131/Paper Based 417-450 or IELTS = Band 5.

Areas of Research

 

The above- listed areas are only an indicative list of areas that can be offered. Interdisciplinary research can be accommodated given UiTM's vast resources in 24 growing Faculties.

 

Requirements for the Research Degree

All doctorate postgraduate candidates are required to attend Institute of Graduate Studies Research Skills Seminar (IGSRSS) and Postgraduate Training in Innovation & Entrepreneurship Exploration (TIE2) courses or other equivalent courses provided by the Faculty.

AM990 postgraduate candidates are also required to submit a thesis with a minimum of 80,000 and not exceeding 100,000 words on an approved area of study under the supervision of a Faculty member which  meets the academic rigorous standards and passed a viva voce.

 Background of Program

Admission to the Fast-Track Doctoral program in UiTM has been opened since semester October 2020. Under this special entrance route, the Fast-Track, qualified applicants can also now be admitted to AM990, Doctor of Philosophy (Administrative Science). This means that applications for Fast Track PhD are now open for First Class Degree graduates interested in joining the Faculty's PhD program. Entry Requirements for PhD Fast-Track (AM990)

A first-class degree in a relevant field from UiTM or any institution of higher learning recognized by the UiTM Senate;

OR

CGPA of at least 3.67 or equivalent from an academic program or program from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in a relevant field from any institution of higher learning recognized by the UiTM Senate;

and

Pass an interview;

and

Pass a research proposal presentation; and

Other requirements stipulated by the respective faculty.
